Takiyama Castle ruins - National Historic Site(continued series of Japan's top 100 Castles)
大永元（1521）年築城といわれる滝山城。北条氏照は八王子城に移るまでの間、20年以上にわたりここに居城していました。城は多摩川によって浸食された断崖上に築かれ、曲輪（本丸、二の丸など城を構成する区画のこと）や、城の防御をかためるための馬出などが良好な状態で残されています。
Takiyama Castle is believed to have been built in 1521. Hojo Ujiteru resided here for twenty-plus years until he moved to the Hachioji Castle.
The castle was built into the cliffside, which had been corroded by the Tamagawa River. The castle towers and the combat exit remain in good condition.
おすすめポイント
中の丸まで行くと多摩川を見下ろすこともでき、景色を楽しめます。春にはソメイヨシノやヤマザクラおよそ5,000本の群生林もあり、花見の名所としても有名です。
Go to Nakanomaru to get a spectacular view of the Tamagawa River from above. In the spring, clusters of 5,000 Someyoshi cherry blossoms and mountain cherry blossoms burst into bloom. This area is a well-known spot for viewing these stunning flowers.
