【発祥年】明和8（1771）年
豊前中津藩奥平家の中屋敷のあったところで、杉田玄白や藩医で蘭学者の前野良沢（1723〜1803年）らがオランダ語の医書ターヘル・アナトミアを初めて翻訳しました。

This is the site of the residence of Lord Okudaira, ruler of the Nakatsu domain, where Sugita Genpaku translated a Dutch book of anatomy with Maeno Ryotaku (1723-1803), a physician for the Nakatsu domain and Dutch studies scholar.
