【発祥年】明治7（1874）年
米国聖公会宣教師C.M.ウィリアムズ主教により築地の外国人居留地に開かれた「立教学校」という私塾が立教学院のルーツです。
【Birth Year】1874
The university has its origin in a private school called the Rikkyo School opened by Bishop Channing Moore Williams, a missionary of the American Episcopal Church, in the foreign enclave located in the Tsukiji area.
