【発祥年】昭和21（1946）年
井深大、盛田昭夫が日本橋の白木屋三階に東京通信工業（現ソニーグループ株式会社）を設立。1958年ソニー株式会社に社名変更。初めは真空管電圧計などを製作していました。

Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita established "Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo" (Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering) on the third floor of Shirokiya Department store building (current COREDO Nihonbashi). In 1958 they changed the name of the company to Sony Corporation. In the beginning they manufactured electronics products such as vacuum-tube voltmeter.
