Description
幕末から明治時代のはじめにかけて、八王子から鑓水峠を越えて開港場横浜まで生糸を運んだ「絹の道」。その歴史を10の「絹の道物語」から紹介しています。
The Japanese Silk Road stretched from Hachioji to Yokohama Port via the Yarimizu Pass, by way of which silk was transported from the end of the Edo Period through the early Meiji Period. The history of this area is told in the "Silk Road Story."

生糸を運んだ鑓水商人の一人の八木下要右衛門の屋敷跡に建てられています。石垣には、石垣大尽と呼ばれた八木下家の石垣の石が使われています。資料館で歴史を学んだあとは、「絹の道」を散策して当時の雰囲気をお楽しみください。
This museum is built on the site of the villa of Yagishita Yogoemon, a Yarimuzu merchant who carried silk along this route. The stone wall incorporates stones from the wall of the original Yagishita family home. After a visit to the museum, take a walk along the Silk Road to take in the atmosphere of former times.
