Takiyama Castle ruins - National Historic Site(continued series of Japan's top 100 Castles) 大永元（1521）年築城といわれる滝山城。北条氏照は八王子城に移るまでの間、20年以上にわたりここに居城していました。城は多摩川によって浸食された断崖上に築かれ、曲輪（本丸、二の丸など城を構成する区画のこと）や、城の防御をかためるための馬出などが良好な状態で残されています。 Takiyama Castle is believed to have been built in 1521. Hojo Ujiteru resided here for twenty-plus years until he moved to the Hachioji Castle. The castle was built into the cliffside, which had been corroded by the Tamagawa River. The castle towers and the combat exit remain in good condition.

住宅地に広大な牧草地を持った全国的にも有名な牧場。乳製品を購入できる他、乳搾り、仔牛のお散歩、バター作り体験などを開催していて子供にも人気です。 This ranch--well-known around the nation--has open grassy areas near residential areas. In addition to dairy products for purchase, it also offers cow milking, a walk along with calves, butter-making, and more, making this a popular place for kids as well as adults.

甲州街道の高尾入口から追分交差点まで約4kmの道の両側に続くいちょう並木。大正天皇の御陵造営を記念して、地元の人たちが植えたもので、およそ770本の見ごとな並木が続きます。 Rows of gingko trees line both sides of an approximately 4-km stretch between Koshu Kaido Takaosaniriguchi to the Oiwake Intersection. These trees, approximately 770 of them in total, were planted by the local people in commemoration of the construction of the mausoleum of the Taisho Emperor.

里山の風景に溶け込んだ木造建築が印象的な施設。 いま見られる植物の情報、里山の農機具が展示されています。 絵本や積み木で遊べるコーナーや、自然の素材をつかった工作ができるコーナーは幼児から楽しめます。(現在休止中。絵本のみ閲覧可。) This wooden structure set against a pastoral background makes a strong impression on the visitor. There are also exhibits on current plant and animal life as well as insects, plus agricultural equipment of the region. There is also an area where children can play with picture books and building blocks, or make things with natural materials.

陣馬山のふもと、多摩川の支流で本格的なルアー釣りが楽しめます。手ぶらでも釣り具一式レンタル可能。団体用BBQ小屋完備。少人数なら河川敷でBBQもできます。 Have fun with lure fishing in the waters of the Tama River, at the base of Mt. Jinba. Come without any equipment; we offer rentals of everything you need. BBQ areas are also available for groups. Small groups may also have barbeques along the riverbed.

KONICA MINOLTA SCIENCE DOME(Children's Museum of Science) 子どもの科学に関する知識の普及及び啓発を図り、次代を担う創造性豊かな子どもの育成をコンセプトに設置された施設です。科学に関する資料や体験型装置の展示、工作教室や講座の開催、プラネタリウム番組の投影を実施しています。 This facility was set up with a view to helping spread knowledge and educate children on the subject of science, and to foster creativity amongst upcoming generations. It offers materials on science, workshop-stye exhibits, and holds craft-making classes as well as planetarium shows.

「暮らしを支えるトラックとバスの歴史がわかるミュージアム」 日野自動車の創成期から現在に至る商品や技術を一堂に展示。 商品の生まれた歴史解説やミニチュアモデルの展示エリアは幅広い年齢層に親しまれてます。 This museum describes the history of trucks and busses, which are a key element of our society. This exhibit showcases products and technologies over time, from the establishment of Hino Motors to the present. The historical accounts of different products and miniature model area appeal to all age groups.

1983年11月、池田大作SGI（創価学会インタナショナル）会長により設立された総合美術館。コレクションは、日本・東洋・西洋の各国、各時代の絵画・版画・写真・彫刻・陶磁・漆工・武具・刀剣・メダルなど様々なジャンルの作品約30,000点を収蔵しています。 This art museum was established by Daisaku Ikeda, Chairman of Soka Gakkai International (SGI), in November 1983. The museum has a collection of approximately 30,000 works, including pieces from Japan as well as other Asian and Western countries, and spanning many genres including paintings, woodblock prints, photographs, carvings, pottery, lacquerware, armor, swords, medals, etc.

高尾の森わくわくビレッジは、子どもから大人までご利用いただける宿泊可能な体験型学習施設です。 都立八王子高陵高校の跡地に、高校の建物をそのまま再利用して2005年4月にオープンしました。 緑豊かな環境の中、人々が自然とふれあいながら家庭や学校では体験できない学びの喜びを発見できる場をめざしています。 The Takaonomori Wakuwaku Village is a place of hands-on learning for everyone from children to adults. Overnight accommodation available. Utilizing the old buildings of the Hachioji High School remaining on the site, it was opened in April 2005. The goal of this place is to provide an opportunity for visitors to discover the fun of learning through experience in a different setting than school or home, by way of interacting with nature in this wonderful natural environment.

道の駅八王子滝山は東京初の道の駅であり、『東京唯一』の道の駅。 八王子で栽培された野菜や果物、畜産物などたくさんの東京の恵みが集まります。 地元の新鮮な農産物や畜産物などを販売する農産物直売所『ファーム滝山』 八王子農家のお母さん(嫁)が集まり、地元食材を活かした昔ながらの惣菜が購入できる『はちまきや』、八王子の牛乳を使ったソフトクリームや四季折々の地元食材を使ったジェラート『ミルクアイスMO-MO』、カフェラテや地元食材を使用したスムージーなどが並ぶ『カフェ・ラ・ジータ』、八王子ならではのメニュー等を提供する『やさいの食卓 八農菜』などたくさんの魅力が詰まった当駅では皆様のお越しを心よりお待ちしております。

年間５本程度の特別展を開催し、八王子にゆかりのある洋画家・版画家の収蔵品を常設展で展示しています。 Approximately five special exhibitions are held annually. Permanent exhibitions include collections of paintings and prints by artists of the Hachioji area.

7章にわたる展示は世界の有名デザイナーの椅子とバルビゾン派、印象派、エコール・ド・パリの絵画を展示しています。これまでにはない珍しい展示と数多くの作品のハーモニーをお楽しみください。 The exhibit featured in Chapter 7 showcases chairs by world-famous designers, the Barbizon School, the impressionists, and École de Paris works. 八王子市にある、緑豊かな自然体験型レクリエーション施設。 童謡「夕焼小焼」の作詞者である、地元「恩方」出身の「中村雨紅」に関する資料の展示や、写真家「前田真三」の展示ギャラリーなどもあり、食事処や宿泊施設も併設しています。 This is a recreation facility situated amidst great natural environment in Hachioji City. There is an exhibit on Uko Nakamura of the local area of Ongata, a poet who wrote the nursery rhyme "Yuyake Koyake," as well as a gallery of the works of photographer Shinzo Maeda, plus a restaurant and accommodation.
